Verse of the Week

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart
brings forth that which is good: and an evil man
out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth
that which is evil; for of the abundance  of the
heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

1.The sinner must hear the gospel.
Romans 10:14-15. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall
they believe in him of whom they have  not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And
how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that
preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Acts 11:14. Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall  be saved.

Acts 15:7. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and
brethren, ye know how  awhile ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth
should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

2.
The sinner must trust in Jesus as the only begotten Son of God.
Mark 16:15-16. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every
creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

                   3.
The sinner must repent of his sins.
Luke 13:3. I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 17:30. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every
where to repent:

2 Peter 3:9. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

4.
The sinner must trust in Jesus, and he must confess this faith.
Romans 10:9-10. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him  from the dead, thou shalt be saved.. For with the heart man believes
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto             salvation.
5.
The sinner must obey the gospel by being immersed in water unto the remission of sins
Acts 2:38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16. And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on
the name of the Lord.

1 Peter 3:21. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of
the filth of the flesh, but the  answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus
Christ:

6.
The child of God must be faithful unto death

Revelation 2:10. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some
of you into prison, that ye may be  tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto
death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
